Local Walks
Our personal favourite is the Carbis Bay to St Ives walk. It’s a half an hour walk from the flat with stunning views and treats waiting for you at the end.
Visit the visit Cornwall website to find out more about the different walks you can go on around the area and to find the perfect route for you.
Art Galleries
An obvious one to visit is the Tate gallery in the heart of St Ives, it’s an art gallery in the heart of the town exhibiting work by modern British artists as well as showing off some gorgeous local art. It’s also home of the Barbara Hepworth and sculpture garden museum. The perfect pre or post beach activity if you’re looking to grab some culture during your visit!
Our other favourite is the Blue Bramble gallery in St Ives, this gorgeous independent art gallery is filled with wonderful inspiration and oozing with creativity. Treat yourself to some local art and take a seat at Olives cafe next door for a Cornish cream tea.
The Best Beaches
Porthminster Beach
Porthminster beach is almost unmissable in the heart of St Ives. You can safely swim in the sea, grab a bite to eat from the beach shack and sunbathe all day till your heart’s content. Even on a slightly windier and cold day the views are still stunning, wrap up warm instead and grab a hot drink!
Porthgwidden Beach
A true hidden gem secluded in a quiet corner of St Ives. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the town and visit this gorgeous, relaxing beach. Why not hire a beach pod for the day?
Porthmeor Beach
Fancy a more active beach in St Ives? This one is home to the surf school in peak seasons, you’re able to take surfing lessons and hire out equipment. Even if you’re a total beginner you can take beginners lessons and get practicing! Dreamy.
Carbis Bay Beach
Not so much surf as the other, this one is closest to the flat and perfect for families who need some chill out time. The little ones can have a swim and you’ll be able to see the picturesque St Ives row for around a mile long. Visit The Carbis Bay Hotel for a cream tea afterwards! (Obviously)
